Zusammenfassung:	A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display using the same are disclosed. The backlight unit includes a plurality of light sources generating light, a light source printed circuit board (PCB) on which the plurality of light sources are mounted, a protrusion that protrudes from one side of the light source PCB and is fastened to a connector used to supply a driving power to the plurality of light sources, and a bottom cover that receives the light source PCB and has a through hole through which the protrusion passes. The connector is exposed to the outside through the through hole. The backlight unit and the liquid crystal display using the same can increase the assembly performance and decrease the assembly cost.
