The invention discloses a method for testing short messages, comprising the following steps: S1, inserting an object of a short message tool into an object resource manager of an automated test tool, wherein the short message tool is a tool for simulating an short message gateway to receive and send short messages; and S2, comparing short message contents acquired by an object identification function with actually sent or received short message contents to judge whether the short message interaction between a personal computer end and a short message tool end is successful, and generating a test report. The method provided by the invention is utilized to realize the automated test and carry out the multi-group short message test; and by using the method provided by the invention, the test is more accurate.
