The invention provides a method and device for generating a data report. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining an index model symbol in a pre-configured report template file; analyzing a report model and a performance index according to the index model symbol; obtaining a performance index value corresponding to the performance index according to the performance index; generating a report block according to the report model and the performance index value; and generating a data report according to the report block and the report template file. According to the invention, the flexibility and the expansibility of the report technology can be improved, and a user can conveniently operate the data report, therefore, resources can be saved and the working efficiency is increased.
