The invention discloses a method and a system for realizing signal quality detection, which are used for detecting the quality of a radio frequency signal of a base station, wherein the power supply of a test antenna is in an on state, and the power supply of a non-test antenna is in an off state. The method comprises the following steps that: a physical layer receives a link-creating message of a test service and creates a link for a test service; the test antenna encodes a downlink data signal to be transmitted by the physical layer and transmits the encoded downlink data signal to a calibration network through a transmitting channel; the test antenna couples the signals of the calibration network and transmits the coupled signal to a receiving channel; the receiving channel transmits the coupled signal to the physical layer; and the physical layer decodes the coupled signal and determines an error rate of the downlink data signal according to the decoded information.
