Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a cutting filament for a trimmer and a method of producing the same, concretely to a cutting filament (1) for a manually-guided trimmer (2), and a method of producing such a filament (1). A polymeric material (4) is filled with platelet-shaped particles (3). The filled polymeric material (4) is extruded in the form of a filament blank (6). In the solidified state, the filament blank (6) is spun in the direction of its longitudinal axis (5), accompanied by plastic deformation, in such a way that the embedded particles (3) are oriented at least predominantly in the direction of the longitudinal axis (5).
