The invention relates to a multistable display system and an image writing method of a multistable monitor. The multistable display system comprises a multistable monitor, a writing head and a sensor, wherein the writing head is provided with a plurality of electrode parts for updating the image data of all pixel units in the multistable monitor, each pixel unit respectively corresponds to more than two electrode parts, and the sensor is used for sensing the relative position between the multistable monitor and the writing head and respectively provides a corresponding driving voltage signal to each electrode part according to the relative position so as to write in and update the image data of each pixel unit in real time.
