Elevator system

The invention discloses an elevator system which can detect regions where passengers are able to enter and exit an elevator, as so called elevator door region. The elevator system herein comprises two position detection sensors (1, 2) which are arranged on the side of the of an elevator car (100) and arrange a distance in lifting direction as prescribed, and are disposed opposite to the side of elevator hall; a current position memory apparatus indicating current position of the elevator car, whether it is within the elevator door region or outside of the elevator door region. Once the elevator system receives an output from any of the two position detection sensors (1, 2), the determined result from the said procedure is reversely stored. The invention can further simplify mounting, repairing, and detection, and at the same time can give an accurate measurement of the position of the elevator car. Even in cases when large vibration occurs due to long-period earthquake, long-size members will not hook objects
