Internal paneling part

The present invention relates to an internal paneling part (1) for concealing the passage area (8) of an airbag (6), containing: a planar carrier (2), a textile planar formation (3), which at least partially covers the passage area (8), wherein said textile planar formation (3) has at least one initial weakening (4) for tearing said textile planar formation along a defined tear line (5) to release said airbag (6), and said tear line (5) runs in at least one direction along a preferred direction (X direction) of said textile planar formation (3), and the further tearing force of said textile planar formation (3) is less in the preferred direction (X direction) than in all other directions of said textile planar formation. Controlled opening of an airbag cover is achieved by the invention and damage to surrounding parts, in particular the windshield, is thus prevented. An opening procedure adapted to the particular airbag firing (controlled tearing force) is thus guaranteed.
