Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase difference plate which has a number of areas different in lagging axis direction and capable of making uniform polarization conversion over a wide wavelength range.SOLUTION: The phase difference plate has a number of areas different in the lagging axis direction, and its birefringence Δn(λ) for the light of wavelength λ(nm) satisfies Δn(450)/Δn(550)≤1.00(1) and 1.00≤Δn(650)/Δn(550)(2) in any area. It is desirable that the phase difference plate is obtained by polymerizing the chemicals containing a group and double bonded group expressed by -G-D-Ar-D- G-. Ar represents a bivalent group having an aromatic ring, and the number Nof π electrons contained in the aromatic ring is 12 or larger. Dand Drepresent each a single bond or a linking group.
