Zusammenfassung:	A method and an apparatus of Downlink Preamble Fast Detection (DPFD for short) location for WiMAX location in mobile communication field by this invention are provided. The method includes: the mobile stations (MSS for short) detecting the downlink preambles received from the base station BS, and these downlink preambles are synchronized by the mobile WiMAX of time division duplex TDD mode. The time difference of arrival (TDoA for short) of the preambles of different BSs are obtained by the preamble synchronous detection, and the exact location is worked out by the classical TDoA arithmetic. The example of this invention describes a novel mode, that measuring the location of the mobile user device by using downlink preamble detection assisted by uplink range process. Along with the mobile WiMAX being accepted as 3G standard formally by International Telecommunications Union (ITU for short) and being popular, the location service based on WiMAX will be marketable.
