Foamable compositions based on epoxy resins and polyesters

A foamable composition comprises at least one epoxy resin; at least one curative; at least one blowing agent; and at least one polyester. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a foam obtained by heating and curing the foamable composition; (2) a composite comprised of a solid article and the foam; (3) a composite comprised of at least one metal component and the foam, where the foam is adhered to at least one surface of metal component; (4) manufacturing an expandable, thermally curable molded object, involving mixing the ingredients of the foamable composition at temperature of below 110 (preferably 80-95)[deg]C; extruding the foamable composition at, below 110 (preferably 80-95)[deg]C, and granulating, optionally on a cooled metallic belt, to form granules; cooling the granules; optionally storing the granules, preferably in containers, bags, drums or sacks; feeding the granules into an injection molding machine; melting the granules at, below 110[deg]C to form a melt and injecting the melt
