Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to making available a method for protecting a burner from being heated excessively during the combustion of a fuel (5) in a combustion chamber, wherein the fuel (5), injected through a fuel nozzle (1), and at the same time an inert gas in the surroundings of the injected fuel, are injected into the combustion chamber in such a manner that the fuel (5) is separated spatially from an oxidizer (7) by the inert gas (6) until an ignitable mixture of the fuel (5) is produced.
