Method for predicting output character and electronic device

The invention relates to a method for predicting an output character and an electronic device. The method comprises the following steps of: firstly receiving at least one touch signal generated by pressing at least one key of a software keyboard; then, determining an output character to be output from all characters corresponding to the pressed key; and finally, displaying a graphic presentation comprising at least the output character and altering the display format of the output character on the graphic presentation to specially mark the output character. Thus, when using the software keyboard, a user can easily judge whether the correct key is pressed, and simultaneously can determine whether the character to be output by the key is the required character.
