The invention discloses a method for sterilizing and deodorizing air by multi-charge ions and device therefor. The method comprises the following steps: placing a multi-charge ion generator placed in an air channel in air to be sterilized and deodorized; starting the multi-charge ion generator to generate multi-charge ions of sufficient concentration; causing the air in the air channel to flow to allow the multi-charge ions to enter the air to be sterilized and deodorized; then keeping the air in the air channel and the air to be sterilized and deodorized in a continuous cyclic mode until air sterilization and deodorization last a certain period of time.
