The invention relates to a dyeing method of powdered catechu dye and is characterized by adopting the post-mordant dyeing method. The post-mordant dyeing method comprises three steps of dyeing, mordanting and post treating. In the step of dyeing, the dosage of powdered catechu dye is 1-5%, the bath ratio is 1:20-1:40, and the dye bath pH equals to 5-8; in the step of post-mordanting, post-mordanting is carried out on a dyeing textile, and the mordant uses KAl(SO4)2.12H2O or FeSO4.7 H2O, wherein the mordanting technique of KAl(SO4)2.12H2O is carried out with the dosage being 1-6% in weight percent and the bath ratio being is 1:20-1:40, and the mordanting technique of FeSO4.7 H2O is carried out with the dosage being 1-3 in weight percent and the bath ratio being is 1:20-1:40; and in the stepof post treating, first 209 detergent of 0.5-2g/L is used for washing the dyeing textile material.
