A short message module in the mobile terminal receives short message sent to the mobile terminal, judges whether the short message is the short message in need of scrolling display, and sends the resolved short message content to a display control element if the short message is the short message in need of the scrolling display; and the display control element stores the received short message content, and scrolls and displays the short message content on a screen of the mobile terminal in a form of scrolling bars. The invention discloses the mobile terminal at the same time. By using the method and the equipment, a user can view the short message content without operating keys of the mobile terminal, sothe method and the equipment are convenient for the user to use.
