Zusammenfassung:	The method involves guiding of main steam turbine to a cooling medium after an intermediate stage. The cooling medium is formed of a mixture, which consists of a pressured steam and water. The pressured steam is extracted from a boiler and the pressured steam is diverged from the main steam inlet by a by-pass line (22). The cooling medium is guided in the idle mode or in the light load operation and is also guided to begin a hot start. An independent claim is also included for a steam generating power plant, which comprises a multi-step steam turbine, a boiler and a cooling medium.
