The radix wikstroemae extractive comprises 4'-methoxyl daphne odora E and thymol. The preparation method of the radix wikstroemae extractive has the following steps: dried root and root bark of the radix wikstroemae is extracted by ethanol water, then the extractive is enriched by macroporous absorption resin column or polyamide column. The extractive can be used for preparing medicine or health-care products for resisting respiratory syncytial virus, parainfluenza type III virus and influenza A virus.
