Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a liquid crystal alignment agent and a liquid crystal display element. The liquid crystal alignment agent has excellent printability even to the substrate with large graduation and can form the liquid crystal alignment film which can stably represent high tile angle. The liquid crystal alignment agent comprises at least one polymer selected from a group which is composed of polyamic acid and imidization polymer, wherein the imidization polymer is prepared through executing dehydration and loop closing to the polyamic acid. The polyamic acid is prepared through the reaction between the diamine and the tetracarboxylic dianhydride. The diamine comprises a specific compound which is represented by 3,5-diaminobenzoic-cholest-alkyl-ester and a specific compound represented by the compound of the following formula (B-1).
