Method for controlling a belt hand-over device and belt hand-over device for a motor vehicle

The invention relates to a method for controlling a belt hand-over device during a delivery movement (Z), for take-up and delivery of a safety belt into a presentation position (P2) which is ergonomically favorable for a user, wherein a belt finger (6) taking up the safety belt is pivoted into an extended position essentially perpendicular to the movement track of the belt hand-over device and, during a retraction movement (R), in which the belt finger (6) is pivoted inwards into a retracted position essentially corresponding to the movement track and the belt hand-over device is withdrawn into an idle position (P1). The pivoting out and in of the belt finger (6) on the delivery and retraction movements (Z, R) of the belt hand-over device are triggered in differing positions on the movement track of the belt hand-over device between the idle position (P1) and the presentation position (P2).
