In providing a network search platform for mobile devices, the search platform can be adapted to tailor the results of a search to the particular subscriber, mobile device and/or search context (date, time, location, profile etc.). By mandating that content be accompanied by associated meta information, and by providing a local user agent that understands the formatting of said meta information, a search engine can assemble a deep-indexed content database. As a result, search results representing content items that are most suitable for the subscriber can be presented while minimising the chances of delivering unwanted content.
