Zusammenfassung:	The invention aims to provide a hydraulic tension device for a timing chain, which has small occupied space and is convenient to arrange. The tension device comprises a valve body which is provided with a hydraulic cavity, and a plunger which can slide axially in the hydraulic cavity of the valve body, and is particularly characterized in that the upper end face of the valve body is provided with an upper guide rail; the lower end face of the plunger is provided with a lower guide rail; the hydraulic cavity of the valve body is provided with an oil inlet hole; the inside of the plunger is provided with an adjusting cavity which is communicated with the hydraulic cavity of the valve body through an engine oil hole; the inside of the adjusting cavity is provided with a valve core and a spring which can press the valve core on the engine oil hole; and the bottom of the adjusting cavity is provided with an oil discharge hole.
