Modified alkyl sulfate and preparation method thereof

The present invention discloses a modified alkyl sulfate, which belongs to the field of daily-use chemical industry. The active substances by weight portions are: no less than 30 portions of C8-14 alkyl sulfate, no less than 1.5 portions of C16 alkyl sulfate, and/or no less than 1.5 portions of C18 alkyl sulfate. The preparation method comprises the following steps that A. a solid material which contains C16 alcohol and/or C18 alcohol is mixed with a liquid material which contains C8-14 alcohol to be sufficiently dissolved and unevenly mixed; B. the mixture in the step A is sulfonated by a sulphating reagent in a sulfonation reactor; and C. the sulfuric ester acid generated in the step B is neutralized by an alkaline neutralization reagent to obtain a sulfonated product.
