The invention discloses a method for controlling the use mode of an electronic device and a remote-control device. The remote-control device comprises a biological identity component, a temporary memory, a database and a processor, wherein, the biological identify component is used for reading first biological characteristics; the temporary memory is electrically connected with the biological identity component and used for temporarily storing the first biological characteristics; the database can store a plurality of second biological characteristics and user modes corresponding to such second biological characteristics; and the processor is electrically connected with the temporary memory and the database and used for comparing the first biological characteristics with the second biological characteristics. The access authority of a user can be restricted by identifying the ID of the user by the remote-control device so as to control the user to use the functions of the remote-control device.
