Zusammenfassung: | The invention belongs to the field of laser cutting, particularly to a method for cutting a rubber steel cord of a radial tire by using the laser technology. The prior cutter using mechanical scissors has the disadvantages that: the cutting thickness is less than or equal to 4mm, the cutting edge is rough and uneven, the consumption of rubber materials is large, and the prior cutter fails to cut a steel cord with a thickness more than 4mm. The basic parameters of the laser beam and the lens selection are as follows: the wavelength of the laser beam is 10.6 mum; the power of the laser beam is in the range from 0.03kW to 3kW; the diameter and the focus length of the lens used for the laser cutting are 1.5'' and 5.0'' respectively. In the method, the nitrogen gas is adopted as auxiliary gas to air-dry the cutting section under the high pressure after the laser cutting and blow the molten or gasified substances away from the cutting seam.
