Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for producing a bearing ring (2) for a rolling bearing (5), the bearing ring (2) comprising a raceway (4a) for a rolling member (5) as well as at least one lateral rim (6) for axially guiding the rolling member (5). In one step of said method, a notch (7) is introduced into a running surface (4a, 6a) of the bearing ring which faces the rolling member (5). According to the invention, the final contour of the bearing ring (2) is created by means of a hard turning process.
