Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a method for coating ceramic honeycomb bodies with a coating suspension which contains catalyst components in a solid and/or in a dissolved form in a carrier liquid. The honeycomb bodies are transversed by parallel flow channels. The walls of the flow channels have a generally open pore structure. In order to coat the channel walls and, in particular, also the inner surfaces of the pores with the coating suspension, alternate flow channels are temporarily closed and the coating suspension is guided by force through the open pore structure of the channel walls. Subsequently, the coating is dried and calcined. In order to close the flow channels, thermally or chemically decomposable or soluble masses, which either decompose and/or dissolve during calcination or by asubsequent chemical treatment, are used. The coated honeycomb bodies are, preferably, used for purifying automobile exhaust gases. |
