The invention discloses a management method of short messages, which comprises the steps that when a trigger which is carried out to store chosen short messages is obtained, a grouping list is displayed; when a short message group in the grouping list is triggered, the short message is stored in the short message group. The invention also correspondingly discloses a mobile terminal for realizing the management of the short message. By providing a short message grouping list containing a plurality of short massage groups, the embodiment of the invention can ensure that short massages can be grouped reasonably, thereby being convenient for a user to search and manage short massages.
