Zusammenfassung:	A power control device comprises a synchronous generator (31), an electric storage device (37, 51) and a control unit (40). The synchronous generator is a permanent magnet type synchronous generator driven by an engine to generate AC electrical power. The electric storage device is connected to the synchronous generator by a switch device (36). The control unit detects the charge voltage of the electric storage device; when the charge voltage is higher than a threshold voltage, the stitch is turned off; when the charge voltage is lower than the threshold voltage, the switch is turned on, thereby improving the fuel efficiency of the engine.
