Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to non-linear optical glass ceramic material and a process for preparation thereof, in particular to infrared transmitting chalcogenide halide glass ceramic with the function of double frequency, which is characterized in that components of material are showed by chemical formula as: xGeS2,yGa2S3,zAgX, wherein x stands for the molar percentage of GeS2, y stands for the molar percentage of Ga2S3, z stands for the mole percentage of AgX, namely x=10-90% (mole), y=5-35% (mole), z=5-60% (mole) and x+y+z=100% (mole), and X stands for Cl, Br or I. the invention employs high purity germanium, gallium, sulfur and silver halide as main components and chalcogenide halide glass via vacuum melting synthesis as parent glass to perform heat treatment within the temperature range close to the transformation temperature of glass and far below the crystallization temperature of glass, thereby effectively controlling nucleation and crystallization processes of the glass and precipitating a large amount of
