Zusammenfassung:	To provide a tool and a method for removing a support casing capable of removing the support casing in the form of a single unit without disassembling the entire part of an engine while holding a rotor shaft connecting a turbine to a compressor at a use position. This method for removing the support casing comprises a guide tool mounting step A for connecting a bearing guide member 12 to the rotor shaft and fitting a load support member to the rear end of a guide while horizontally holding the rotor shaft 1 connecting the turbine to the compressor, a sling member mounting step B for separating the support casing 3 from the turbine casing 4 in the horizontal rear direction and mounting a casing sling member by utilizing flange holes, a load transferring step C for eliminating the need of supporting the support casing by the load support member at the rear of the guide by displacing the support casing 3 rearward while lifting off to expose a turbine blade and supporting the turbine blade from the underside to support a downward force acting on the rotor shaft 1, and a casing removal step D for removing the support casing 3 from the bearing guide member.
