The invention relates to a hydrostatic axial piston machine (10) comprising a cylinder block (30) which can be rotated about a first axis (39), said cylinder block being provided with a plurality of cylinder bores (28) which extend in the axial direction and which are arranged on a partial circle which is concentric in relation to the first axis (39), in addition to a plane (12) which can be rotated about a second axis (38), whereon a number of pistons (27, 27'), which are immersed in a displaceable manner into the associated bores (28) and which correspond to the number of cylinder bores (28), can be articulated in a pivotable manner on a second partial circle which is concentric in relation to the second axis (38) and form a ring, in addition to means (19,..,25) for synchronising the rotation of the cylinder block (39) about the first axis (39) and the drive shaft (11 ) about the second axis (38).
