Hair care preparations

The invention provides hair care preparations which are excellent in hair protecting effect and its persistency and can impart moistness, softness and smoothness to the hair. Hair care preparations containing one or more amino- or ammonium-modified silicones represented by the general formula (I): wherein R1's are each independently methyl, phenyl, or hydroxy; R2's are each independently R4Z; a is an integer of 0 to 3; m and n are each a positive integer with the proviso that the average value of (m + n) is 4000 to 6000 and the average value of n/m is 0.002 to 0.03; R4 is alkylene of 3 to 6 carbon atoms; and Z is (II) AA or (R5's are each independently hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 30 carbon atoms; R6 is alkyl of 1 to 30 carbon atoms; A is chlorine, bromine or iodine; and b is an integer of 2 to 6.
