A refrigerator enabling an increase in usability while securing the depth dimensions of drawer type storerooms at the lowest part and its upper part. In the refrigerator, a compressor (111) is disposed at the rear upper part of an insulated box (101), a drawer type refrigeration room (103) is formed at the lowest part, and a drawer type vegetable room (104) is formed at its upper part. A cooling room (112) is formed at the rear sides of the refrigeration room (103) and the vegetable room (104). An evaporator (119) is disposed across the refrigeration room (103) and the vegetable room (104). The depths of a storage container (116) for the refrigeration room and a storage container (117) for the vegetable room are equally extended to form them in similar simple shapes. Accordingly, the usability of both the refrigeration room (103) and the vegetable room (104) can be increased, the quality of the refrigerator as a refrigerator can be increased, and manufacturing cost can be reduced.
