Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical apparatus capable of preventing deterioration of image quality by an ND filter. SOLUTION: The optical apparatus includes diaphragms 9a and 9b having apertures variable in size, the ND filter 9f movable with respect to the apertures of the diaphragms, an actuator 9c driving the ND filter, and a controller 37 controlling the actuator. The ND filter includes a first part having a size, with which the first part can fully cover a first aperture and cannot fully cover a second aperture when an aperture narrowed from an opened aperture is assumed to be the first aperture and an aperture in an opened aperture state is assumed to be the second aperture, and a transmittance of 75% or more. The controller controls the actuator so that the ND filter is moved always without stopping between a first position, where the first part is retracted with respect to the first aperture, and a second position, where the first part fully covers the first aperture, during the image pickup o
