Carrier optical receiver front feed automatic gain control method and optical receiver using same

Characters of the invention are as following: (1) through detection of optical power obtains power level of incident light at optoelectronic converter in front of optical receiver; (2) converting power level of incident light obtains a control electrical level proportional to the power level; (3) using control electrical level drives attenuator for radio-frequency signal to stabilize level of output signal from the receiver relevant to different powers of incident light. The disclosed optical receiver is mainly composed of optoelectronic converter, amplifying circuit of radio frequency signal, attenuator for radio-frequency signal, circuit for testing level of optical power, electrical level generator for adjusting and attenuating level of optical power etc. Replacing complex method of feedback gain control of radio frequency power in broadband, the invention raises stability and broadband characteristic of circuit in radio frequency, simplifies structure and lowers cost.
