Device for coating blocks of cheese - where liq. is supplied directly to rotating brush which is applied to surface of cheese while cheese itself is rotated

In a new machine for coating rectangular cheeses, the flat brush is mounted on a horizontal shaft in the machine frame, and the shaft is provided with a passage for the coating liquid. This passage opens into the brush is connected to a coating liquid supply and distribution system. The passage is located centrally in the shaft and communicates with the distribution system via one or more radial openings. The distribution system consists of an annular chamber surrounding a part of the shaft and sealed to it by a rotating seal, and which is fed with the coating liquid by the supply system. A spray nozzle may be fitted to the passage at the point where it opens into the brush. USE/ADVANTAGE - This invention is used for coating rectangular blocks of cheese, and allows the coating liquid to be applied directly to the surface of the cheese on which the brush is working, so that an even distribution over the entire surface is achieved. Only a small quantity of coating liquid is required to produce a satisfactory result. The proposed machine is of simple construction and easy to operate.
