Zusammenfassung:	Devices for bringing at least two immiscible phases into contact, esp. in heat- or material-exchanger columns, extn. or absorption units, are formed as contacting, sheet metal or plastic, elements, with at least one of each contacting pair formed with corrugations, with these corrugations intersecting. At a number of the intersections the corrugations are rigidly connected to resist relative movement of the elements under mechanical stresses arising during operation or installation. Connecting methods include welding, brazing and adhesive bonding. ADVANTAGE - Relatively thin sheet components can be given adequate stiffness combined with low weight and with min. effect on fluid flow properties in columns.
