High voltage post current transformer

The current transformer core (7) and secondary winding (8) are contained in a housing (5) of non-magnetic conducting material. At the bottom, the housing (5) extends into a tube (4) which reaches to the base (3) of the transformer. The secondary winding connections are contained in this tube. The whole is enclosed in solid insulation (10). The solid insulation, and the structures it contains, forms the support and mounting for a primary conductor (11), which passes through a window in the insulation (10). The conductor (11) pref. has flanged ends (16) for improved support. Potential grading screens (25) are inserted in the insulation (10) as needed. The insulation can also have formed on sheds (14).
