Reactive dis:azo dyestuff cpds

Exhaustion dyeing of cellulose (mixed) fibres is carried out in an aq. dyebath contg. a reactive dyestuff (I) with s-triazinyl gp(s). and a quat. nicotinic acid gp. of formula (II), (in which M is H or an alkali metal) at pH 4-10 (6-8) and 95-150 (110-140) deg.C. New disazo dyestuffs with s-triazinyl gps. and gps. of formula (II) are of formula (III), (IV) and (V) (in which X is H, Me or MeO. Y is H, Me, acetylamino or ureidoamino. R1, R2 and R3 are H or Me. Both Z gps. are of formula (II) or one of formula (II) and the other Cl; similarly for Z1 and Z2. n = 1,2 or 3. In (IV) A is a benzene gp. with 1-2 SO3H and/or COOH gps. or a naphthalene gp. with 1-3 SO3H gps. In (V), A and B are aromatic gps. or H. In (IV), D is of formula (a, b, c, d or e) and in (V) D is of formula (b or f). (in which R3 is Me or COOH. D is not of formula (c) if n= 3). Level dyeing is obtd. and (I) can be used in conjunction with disperse dyestuffs for polyesters, acid dyestuffs for wool or basic dyestuffs for polyacrylonitrile in dyeing mixed textiles.
