Arrangement for transmitting information signals

The arrangement is used for transmitting information from and to subscriber stations (STk) connected to a central station (ZT) via a transmission path (UW). The digital information signals to be transmitted are coded in the relevant subscriber stations (STp), split into time slots of a certain duration and written into an output buffer store (ZA), then read out successively within a fraction of the time slot period and transmitted, time-interleaved and appropriately addressed, to other subscriber stations (STq) via the transmission path (UW). At the same time, the time-compressed digital information signals of an information channel arriving at a subscriber station (STp) and selected on the basis of their address are written into an input buffer store (ZE), read out expanded in the particular time slot period, decoded and supplied to a subscriber circuit (TS). The arrangement is used for the multiple utilisation of the transmission path (UW).
