Pocket-type filter with automatic cleaning

The pocket-type filter has two air inlet openings lying opposite to one another and having in each case an elastic, air-permeable carrier (2) and a filter mat (3) arranged thereon. The two carriers (2) are supported on one another by toggle levers (4). With the increasing deposition of dust on the filter mats (3) and thereby increasing air resistance, the carriers (2) sag in the regions between the toggle levers (4). Finally, the deformed carriers (2) actuate release levers (4.1) which are provided on the toggle levers (4), so that the toggle levers buckle. This then results in a sudden deformation of the carriers (2) which is utilized for closing a shutter in an air-outlet opening of the pocket-type filter. The shut-off, thus obtained, of the air flow through the filter pocket during the maximum deformation leads to the release of the dust layers deposited on the filter mats (3), whereupon the filters mats (3) are brought back to the original shape by the elasticity of the carrier (2).
