Method and device for interrupting the twisting operation during the delivery of faulty looped yarn from a hollow spindle

In the method, the tension acting on a looped yarn (8) during production is sensed continuously, in order to interrupt the production operation if a yarn component (1, 2, 6) tears. The enlarged loops occurring when a yarn component (1, 2, 6) tears are captured. The tension is consequently reduced and production interrupted. The tension acting on the looped yarn (8) is sensed by a tension meter (12), the sensing arm (11) of which rests on the looped yarn (8). The enlarged loops which occur are captured and held by a small hook (9), so that the tension is reduced. The sensing arm (11) is thereby deflected and the production of the looped yarn interrupted.
