Zusammenfassung: | A tube blank produced on a press is drawn, being upset in the process, until a reduction of around 60 to 80% in the cross-sectional area of the wall of the tube blank is achieved, and annealed at a temperature of from 800 to 830 DEG C. This operation can be repeated several times until the wall thickness of the tube blank is from 0.24 to 0.30 mm. The drawing operation is then continued, with upsetting, in such a way that the reduction in the cross-sectional area of the tube upon each drawing operation is between 28 and 50%. The tube is then annealed at a temperature of 750 +/- 20 DEG C after each of these drawing operations. In this way, it is possible to produce thin-walled palladium-alloy tubes which are suitable for use as diffusion membranes which permit the achievement of a vacuum of from 10 to 10 torr. |
