Zusammenfassung:	In order to provide a reliable indication of the blood pressure, the device comprises a leaktight bag (3) filled with an incompressible fluid, a part (5) of which can be pressed by external actuation means (8, 8a), and another part (4) of which is pressed against an artery and contains a pressure sensor (10). Electronic circuits (11-14), responding to the signal supplied by the sensor (10), provide a digital display of the pressure (15) which shows the pulse beats (16, 17). By increasing the pressure using external means (8, 8a), the pulse is caused to stop and the pressure value displayed at this moment corresponds to the systolic blood pressure.
