Method and apparatus for winding yarn onto a conical cross-wound bobbin, especially in a spindleless spinning machine

In the production of conical cross-wound bobbins in spindleless spinning machines, a constant spinning speed of the spinning chamber (2) is contradictory to a continuously changing yarn requirement of the winding unit. In order to overcome this discrepancy between the supply of yarn and the yarn requirement, a pass-through yarn store (a) is arranged between the spinning chamber and the winding unit. By using the signal from a filling-level sensor (8), the winding speed is controlled by means of a control in such a way that the average filling level of the yarn store is maintained.
