Zusammenfassung:The device for controlling the work cycle, which comprises at least two operations, of a periodically operated filter (1) is employed to optimise the duration of the filtration operation and has at least one first control part (2) in order to carry out, in addition to the filtration operation, at least one auxiliary operation, i.e. back-flushing. Downstream of the filter (1) there is a flowmeter (3). A second control part (4) for controlling the auxiliary operation contains an arithmetic unit (5) connected to the flowmeter (3) for determining the mean throughput of the filter (1). The arithmetic unit (5) integrates the signal from the flowmeter over time and divides the result of the integration by the sum of the current filtration time and the time for carrying out the auxiliary operation. This produces a signal proportional to the mean throughput of the filter (1). The second control part (4) further contains an appliance (6) which is connected to the signal output of the arithmetic unit (5) and to a signal input of the first control part (2), in order to switch on the first control part (2) when the maximum mean throughput of the filter (1) has been reached.
