Zusammenfassung:1333078 Ion exchange polymer reaction products BAYER AG 1 Oct 1970 [8 Oct 1969] 46699/70 Headings C3P and C3R [Also in Division C1] An ion exchange resin has a plant growth regulating agent chemically bound thereto and, in admixture with a solid material suitable for supporting the roots of plants, is used as a substrate for plant cultivation. The ion exchange resin may be a phenol-formaldehyde resin or a styrene-divinyl benzene resin containing sulphonic or carboxylic acid groups or amino groups, or a cross-linked acrylic or methacrylic acid polymer, or a cross-linked aminated acrylontrile polymer-but others are disclosed. Plant growth regulating agents claimed are tetramethyl ammonium chloride, chloromethyl trimethylammonium chloride, 2- chloroethyl trimethylammonium chloride, chlorocholine, nicotine, MCPA, 2,4-D, 2,4,5-T, indolylacetic acid, gibberellic acid and 3,5-dinitro-o-cresol-but many others are listed. The solid material may be soil, sand, peat, vermiculite, bentonite, a fibrous product, fleece, foil, mineral wool, polyvinyl chloride, a polyamide, a ureaformaldehyde condensate or a polyurethane foam.
