Zusammenfassung:1303324 Oxamide DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER - SCHEIDEANSTALT 16 April 1970 [16 April 1969] 18184/70 Heading C2C Oxalic acid diamide (i.e. oxamide) is prepared by hydrolysing cyanogen with, water in the presence of a hydrogen halide in an organic solvent which is not an alcohol or a carboxylic acid or anhydride. The hydrolysis is preferably carried out at a temperature of from 0‹ to 120‹ C. and at a pressure of from 1 to 50 atms. The solvent is preferably one in which water is highly soluble such as a sulphone, ketone or ether or a mixture thereof.
