Zusammenfassung: | 1357452 Artificial body tubes RHONEPOULENC SA 10 Feb 1972 [11 Feb 1971] 6302/72 Heading A5R [Also in Divisions B2 and C3] A process for preparing an article resistant to incrustation in biological use, for example a tube carrying human or animal urethrals, bile or haemodialised blood, which process comprises applying to the surface of the article a layer of a liquid organosilicon composition which (a) is substantially free from fillers, (b) has a viscosity of 10 to 10,000 cpo. at 20‹C and (c) can be cured with a change of volume within the range of Œ5%, allowing the layer of the organosilicon composition to level under the influence of surface tension to provide a substantially smooth layer, and then curing the levelled layer on the surface. An organosilicon primer layer may also be applied. The tube is made of biologically tolerated material such as polydimethyl siloxane hot-vulcanised using benzoyl peroxide, or braided polyester fibre repeatedly steeped in a solution of cross-linked polydimethyl siloxane and dried. Three specific examples of compositions are given. |
